Description
Anise is the most aromatic herb with tremendous healing properties mainly due to its aphrodisiac effect as well as its enormous positive effect on our digestive system.
It is an endemic plant of Greece, Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean. It is used in pastry and bakery, but its most famous and successful use was made by the distillery.
It is a warming, stimulating grass that improves digestion, has beneficial effects on the liver and the circulatory system and has expectorant and estrogenic action. It is a very effective remedy against internal muscle spasms (stomach and intestines).
It helps in the elimination of intestinal gas (abscess) and increases the secretion of fluid from all endocrine glands, including the secretion of lactate glands.
Because anise essential oil is partially excreted by the body and respiratory, it also helps to cleanse the airways of the respiratory tract.
In what form do we find him?
It comes in two forms: seed and powdered powder. We prefer the seeds that we rub in the grinder or cut into the mortar for a more intense aroma. We can leave them whole, especially if we put them in breads – they will break in chewing to release their fragrance.
However, anise has beneficial properties for the radical treatment of psoriasis.
Some people apply anise directly to the skin to treat scabies and psoriasis. In foods it is used as a flavoring substance. It has a sweet, aromatic taste that resembles the taste of black licorice.
Usage:
* As a decoction, it is used for stomach problems. Boil a teaspoon of leaves and anise seeds in a cup of water. Strain and drink.
* For colic boil a teaspoon in a glass of milk for 10 minutes.
* Boiling dried fruits from anise in water we can prepare a decoction which is a mild laxative.
* As a tea. A spoon full of broken seeds in a glass of boiling water. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, drain and drink.
* For insomnia drink milk with a spoonful of broken anise seeds.
Precautions: Anise can cause an allergic reaction. The use of anise oil in people with dermatitis is not recommended. The estrogenic activity of anethole and its polymers can have an impact on concomitant hormone therapy including oral contraceptive therapy and hormonal rehabilitation through pills if overdoses are taken. Excessive consumption of anise can cause neurological effects.
